The Inn on Poplar Hill is a Bed and
Breakfast in Orange Virginia near the University of Virginia and
Montpelier in the heart of Virginia wine Country. A
casually elegant, Queen Anne Victorian built in the
1890's, by the Great Granddaughter of Thomas Jefferson.
The Inn on Poplar Hill overlooks the historic town of Orange
Virginia. Surrounded by 28 acres with an abundance of
wildflowers, walking trails and country charm.
It
is just a few short blocks walk into town to visit one
of the many antique & gift shops, enjoy dinner or visit
an art gallery. For a more secluded escape, many
guests prefer to stroll our many walking trails.
Our resident dogs Bear, a friendly flat coat retriever ,
Molly our Saint Bernard and Cookie the Newfie Puppy, would
love to meet you in our fenced dog play area.
We will be happy to pack you a special picnic lunch or
dinner to take along.
Over
the past seven years we have been painstakingly working to
renovate the interior of our house. We offer six bedrooms,
each with it's own private bath. Our rooms
are uniquely decorated with custom window treatments, period
antiques, cozy handcrafted quilts and many other details.
All of our rooms are coordinated with the elegance and
comforts befitting a romantic country inn.
As your hosts we are happy to offer information about
the area, assist with dinner plans, or help plan your day.
Our goal is to provide excellent service, and attention to
your needs, our home is your home while you visit. We

Start the day with
coffee delivered to your door and the smell of fresh breads, muffins or
Victoria's special sticky buns baking in the kitchen. Join the other guests for a full country breakfast served at 9am. Or by request at a time to meet your schedule.
We are happy to accommodate the dietary needs of all
guests. Please let us know of any special requests
when making your reservation. We have a wide variety
of special recipes to accommodate:

Breakfast starts with a sweet treat fresh from the oven; muffins, sweet
breads, Sticky Buns, Scones,
Oatmeal Soufflé or coffee cake.
A light fruit course is served next. Selections change daily based on
the availability of the freshest ingredients but may include berries with yogurt
and granola, poached
pears with an apple compote, broiled ginger grapefruit, or a melon
martini.
Be sure to save room for the main event; Pumpkin Pecan
Waffles, Apple Pancakes, Over Stuffed Omelets, Eggs in a
Nest, Eggs Benedict or some other culinary indulgence and don't forget the
bacon, sausage or country ham. There is always a choice of entrees, with
many guest choosing both!
Most guests don't have room for lunch! But just in case you need a
snack later we offer Room Service Picnics and
the cookie jar is always full.
