There are many choice for lunch and dinner in area.
From Casual Country diners to four star restaurants, and
just about everything in between. We would be happy to
help you with recommendations &
reservations.. We have menus available for your review
upon arrival. Some of the more popular spots tend to
fill up in advance, especially on Saturday nights. We
recommend you make your reservations early. Many of
our guests prefer to relax completely and stay on
property with a specially prepared picnic lunch or
romantic fireside dinner.

PICNICS
Spread a blanket under one of the ancient poplar
trees, relax at a candle lit picnic table by the pond,
in front of fireplace or if you prefer enjoy
your picnic in the privacy of your room. $40
for a picnic for 2.

change daily based on the availability of the freshest
ingredients.

ICE CREAM
We are just on the edge of town, so you can
take a stroll down our driveway and across the street for an old fashioned
ice cream cone. Or walk just a couple of blocks into historic
Orange, VA to enjoy dinning, shopping, antiquing art galleries, and the
James Madison Museum. Saturday Mornings during the summer visit the
farmers market less than two blocks away. Small Town America at its finest. |

style lunch Monday-Saturday. Dinner Friday -Saturday.
The Silk Mill Grill - Large Menu selection of steaks, chicken and
fish. Sports Bar atmosphere & Menu. Full bar service, and a nice outdoor patio. Sunday
night is Seafood night with crab legs. Reservation usually
not needed.

The Diary Korner Located just down our driveway and across the street,
a 3 minute walk, this greasy spoon is a great place to get a late night soft
serve ice cream cone, hot fudge sundae or banana split.

Subway, Mama's Pizza, Papa's Pizza, The Dairy Korner, Dominos, Pizza Hut,

choices, Full bar live music.
Pomme - (540) 832-0130 Excellent French cuisine. Limited seating
in an intimate setting. Entrees $18 to $30 Located in Gordonsville
just a 10 minute drive. Reservations Required.

The Inn at Meander Plantation, (800) 385-4936. Lovely four course
pre-fix dinner at historic inn. 10 miles north on Rt. 15. Reservations required
Palladio at Barboursville Winery, (540) 832-7848. Excellent Northern
Italian gourmet cuisine. Four course $52, with wine accompanying each course
$75. Lunch $28/$38. 14 miles from Inn. Reservations are a must, and
should be made well in advance. Palladio offers special wine parings and
guest chefs. This is a meal to remember.
The Bavarian Chef, (540) 948-6505. Fabulous German and American
cuisine. Plentiful servings. Dinners from $15-$21. This is definitely worth the
18 mile drive, west to Rt. 29, south of Madison. Full Bar Reservations recommended.
On Route 29 between Madison & Charlottesville, Worth the 20 minute drive.
Pig n Steak 540-948-3130 Just the place for old fashioned BBQ and
fried pickles. We have some guests who don't think a trip is complete with
out visiting the Pig N Steak at least once to get the fried pickles.
Located in Madison just off RT 29.
Lucio - (540) 829-9788 Italian at it's best, Great food and a wonderful
atmosphere. Located on 15 business in Culpeper. Reservations
recommended.

It's About Thyme, (540) 825-4264. Popular restaurant for European
Country Cuisine, with the emphasis on fresh ingredients and herbs. Ala carte.
Entrees: $15-$22. 19 miles north on Rt. 15 to Culpeper. Located in the Historic
district of Culpeper. Coming from NVA on Friday night. This is a great
place to start your weekend. Stop for dinner on Friday night on your way
to the Inn on Poplar Hill. reservations recommended
Prospect Hill Inn, (800) 277-0844. Historic inn serving excellent 5
course gourmet dinners at $50. 24 miles south of Orange. Reservations required
Charlottesville a 35
minute drive offers several hundred unique as well as the popular chain restaurants to choose
from.
